Hey guys, I know this kills you with novices like me, but I went ahead and reverted to Precise. I'm leaving for military training in a few weeks and this is the main desktop in the house. Wife isn't the most computer literate so I had little time to make sure this thing worked smoothly for her. I downgraded to Precise and everything is working smoothly now. I re-partitioned the drives thinking that since I added more RAM before my last upgrade that I should make my swap larger too. Not sure if that has anything to do with this since the swap is more geared toward waking up from hibernation, but it works fine now. I refuse to dual-boot Windows so I have to make sure that this setup will be stable for this Mrs. Thank you all for your quick replies and I'll be more apt to rely on the forums for future problems. That's for sure!
