How do I use LCDNurse to fix a stuck pixel on my monitor?

Kubuntu 12.10 KDE 4.9.4

Approximately 1 inch from the bottom and 4 inches in from the left border of my monitor is a stuck pixel, blue in color. LCDNurse was the application recommended for monitor repair for Ubuntu. I have downloaded and installed the package but do not know how to use it. I have been unable to find suitable instructions. Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

I used the link to try to understand the use of the program. By fiddling around, a window finally opens giving a choice of colors which then becomes the color of the binking area surrounding the stuck pixel. It blinks sporadically. I have allowed this process to continue for several hours. I have changed the background color, but the color surrounding the stuck pixel remains blue, the color I chose when beginning the repair. I have attempted the same process over and over for hours over the stuck pixel. Each time I Quit the application and re-open to try to change the area that surrounds the stuck pixel's color, the package retains the setting I first chose.

I have tried to change the color of the blinking rectangle area over the stuck pixel and the number of pixels to be contained within the blinking area. Still the stuck pixel remains.

I still am not sure I am doing things right, but there is no information available that describes the process and what is supposed to happen when selecting the various choices. I am unfamiliar with using the command line and man pages concerning this problem.

Did you just google my need, or do you have experience? If experience, could you tell me where I have errored or a link to a source of better explanation? Thank you.

To be honest, I have only very limited experience. You might need to run the program for a few hours. Its even possible that the pixel might be beyond saving...
