    Upgrade To 4.10 Gives Strange Looking Borders Around Notification Windows

    Alright, well I decided to upgrade to 4.10 via the Kubuntu backports ppa. I did thoroughly finish the upgrade, using Terminal and Muon Package Manager to be sure.

    Thankfully, my problem with the invisible Notifications widget has disappeared, but now I have a new problem. There is a strange looking border around Widget windows and the Kickoff Menu. Application windows are fine, however.

    Any ideas on how to remove that border?

    Update and log out and back in, may even require a reboot. I had the same problem, just went away after a while.

      What I just did was to delete: kwinrulesrc & kwinrc and that fixed the problem on all the widgets except for the Kickoff Menu. So other people are having this issue too? I tried Googling for a solution to no avail.

      [home > username > .kde > share > config > kwinrulesrc & kwinrc - for those who don't know]

      Edit: Ah! I now fixed the Kickoff Menu problem by adding a new Kickoff Menu widget to the panel, and deleting the old one.

      Grr, no more problems please KDE! I really like you KDE, don't make me hate you!

        Even easier way to fix this issue:

        K->System Settings->Workspace Appearance->Desktop Theme

        1) Select Oxygen theme instead of the default Air, then click Apply button
        2) Revert selection to Air and click Apply again
        3) Log out and re-login.
        4) Problem fixed
