Reinstalling network manager

I installed Wicd using this guide:

but I have been having problems with it and want to back to using network manager. But I am having trouble now reinstalling network manager. Simply reinstalling with this command 'sudo apt get install network-manager', but it doesn't seem to fix it.

Have you tried removing wicd? As far as I know you can have both installed at once... also try "sudo stop wicd && sudo start networkmanager"

Seems to have fixed it. Thanks, I also had to re-add the plasmoid into the system tray
