    Hi,
How can I get a language in the spell checker (system settings) that is not listed there?

In Muon, install the aspell-* package (where * is the language you want).
    Nowadays I'm mostly Mac, but...

Or when in a box like where I'm now typing you right-click on the text and select Languages/ Add Dictionary.

        Hi,
Thank you very much. I am using Kubuntu 12.10 and Muon does not know aspell. But I have installed Apper. And Apper does know aspell. So I could install the German version.
        Problem Solved!

Judging by the problems you are having like not finding aspell in Muon I have to ask if you use the correct version of Muon, that is the Muon Package Manager, not the Muon Software center!
