Creative SB Live

Hi at all
this is my firts message here... i have installed kubuntu since 15 days more or less in my laptop. I'm thinking to install in my home pc too, but i've a doubt. my desktop pc have a sblive creative soundcard. this card have a digital output jack. in this jack I've connected a 5.1 system. in windows, i need to install native creative drivers to work, but this card not have drivers for linux. my doubt is if witj kubuntu this digital output will work without problems or not... Anyone has this problem?

The Kubuntu installation detects and utilises my SB Creative card automagically. You shouldn't need drivers. If you also have onboard sound you may need to tell linux which one to use, but it should be OK Good luck

ok.. i suppose that linux detects my sb live, because this card have 5 or 6 years, but i need to know if supports ok the digital output. i think that is emuk101. i suppose... i try! thanks a lot

I'm having the same problems with running digital sound and Support didn't really help much this is what he said !!!
