how to share files and folders on LAN

Hi all,
I have a dual boot laptop with windows 7 and kubuntu 12.04 and I am new to linux .
Can any one please tell me how to configure samba file sharing so that I can share files and folders on LAN so that other users running windows can see the shared items.
