    accidentally deleted: libqtcore4, how do can i fix it (detailed description provided)

    Currently running a Kubuntu 11.10, while trying to fix some dependency problems i removed the mentioned pkg.

    Immediately i tried apt-get install but i was then getting this error msg:
    Code:

    E: could not get lock the administrator directory var/lib/dpkg/lock -open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)

    E: Unable to lock administration directory (var/lib/dpkg), is another process using it ?
    ================================================== ============

    Then i went with:

    sudo kill $(cat /var/lib/dpkg/lock)

    It resulted with:
    Code:
    :~/Documents$ sudo kill $(cat /var/lib/dpkg/lock)
    cat: /var/lib/dpkg/lock: No such file or directory
    Usage:
      kill pid ... Send SIGTERM to every process listed.
      kill signal pid ... Send a signal to every process listed.
      kill -s signal pid ... Send a signal to every process listed.
      kill -l List all signal names.
      kill -L List all signal names in a nice table.
      kill -l signal Convert between signal numbers and names.
    ================================================== ===========

    Afterwards i tried:

    Code:
      sudo apt-get install libqtcore4
    E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem
    After i following the requirements, a different error message appeared:
    Code:
     E: Could not get lock /var/cache/apt/archives/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)
    E: Unable to lock directory /var/cache/apt/archives/
    ================================================== ===========

    I thought to give a try to "auto-remove":

    Code:

      apt-get autoremove
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
    The following packages will be REMOVED:

            Well, the kernel panic dosn't look good...

            I would suggest trying to run the commands from a chroot session from a live cd.

              Hm, looks like some kind of file system corruption. You might want to boot with a recovery USB and run fsck -n against the partition. This will report, but not attempt to fix, any errors.
