      Sounds it got turned off. Re-installing wipes out the evidence of what happened so now there's no logs of the event that caused it.

      Does your mini have a wireless on/off switch?

      Do some web searching on rfkill

          @oshunluvr

          Thnx for replying, but yes my mini has a switch like that and everything is switched on as it should be, also the network widget shows wireless enabled...
          The strange thing is it stopped working while I was working on the mini... and it kept asking for kde wallet password, but after reinstalling kubuntu that shouldn't be the problem anymore...

                      @Oshunluvr

                      After trying few options given in that other thread... still doesn't work. My mini does recognize the wrls card en everything is checked on... it only doesn't show any networks around...

                          I've got a BCM4312 on my Dell E6500, running Debian. It needs the proprietary Broadcom firmware. Go to this website for guidance. My E6500 has a broken ethernet chip, so I followed the "b43 -- No Internet Access" instruction, skipping Step 1, downloading the 2 files shown in Step 2 onto a USB stick, and then (with the two downloaded files copied to the E6500) followed Step 3. After a reboot, I had perfect wireless connectivity.
