Samba program does not recognize my password

    Greetings,

I installed Samaba from the repos and at first it would not work. Now it will start on startup and request my administrative password. I enter my pass but I get the following message:

    PHP Code:
Failed to run system-config-samba as user root
When I go to console I can run the program with sudo.

    Any ideas?

My only guess is it has something to do with root being disabled in kubuntu and upon request you're entering your password (user/sudo password). I can't help much past that though. Hopefully someone will know more.
    Nowadays I'm mostly Mac, but...

I deleted samba.conf, apt purged the application and then re-installed it and now It starts with Kubuntu and I just need to enter my password.
