    Wireless connection

    Hi,

I'm trying to get my wireless internet connection working (no problems with ethernet and usb connections). I'm using a Thomson 802.11g Wireless LAN USB Adapter with an Inventel Livebox.

The adapter is detected by the computer, although as an unknown device.

    Does anyone have some ideas.

    Cheers.

What version of kubuntu are you using? I had a lot of problems getting my wireless working on Hoary 5.10, but on 6.06 it worked out of the box. There are tons of wireless how to's, most have to do with onstalling ndiswrapper.

      Cheers.

        well... you could try:

        or:

or try looking in the hardware forums.

Thanks. I was actually just working through the first one. It's not a major issue as I can use an ethernet or USB connection, but of course am limited. The trouble with where I live is that we have very thick granite walls, and WiFi signals etc often don't work consistently.

I'll keep working on it. From what I've read, I'm not alone.

          Ta. I appreciate the links.
