New user, still have some issues.

Iḿ completely new to using Linux/Kubuntu.
After installing, is stumbled upon alot of issues wich I needed to fix. Now most of the issues are fixed, but still have some annoying things:

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    FIXED!, thanks bra|10n

    - no access to my second harddrive (for example playing music in Qmmp right after booting), unless I first open the hdd with Dolphin.
I found this on the forum, but since Iḿ not really good at commands yet, I like some help with it.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
No ideal fix, but I use QuickAccesBrowser now
    - I cant put folders in my "start"menu (Ex. Music/Videos)
I would like to add folders to my panels to easely access my music, videoś etc
    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    - I cant stack 2 panels on top of eachother to use as a quicklaunchbar
I use a panel on the left side of my screen now with my quick launch icons.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    - Cant make the panels less transparant (on default already at max?)
I need to get used to this I guess.. I like this theme, just the panels are too transparant
    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Issues I would still really like so see fixed:

    - A firefox and Dolphin icon keep appearing in my panels every reboot!
In the left corner of 2 panels (left and right monitor) the 2 icons just keep appearing, pretty annoying. (even if I remove them), (The suggested fix from bra|10n did not work)

    - Flash copies the resolution of my second monitor (1280x1024) so on my primary I cant see fullscreen video (its surrounded by black borders)
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=887675
I found this, but not definite fix.

    - I cant associate .nzb files in FF/Chrome (allthough I did set a program in settings / File associations)

    - applications many times open in the wrong window (they seem to respond to the program that has focus on the moment)

I someone would like to help me, Id be happy

    Not sure I can help much with your questions but I will try;

Im not sure what you mean by "applications many times open in the wrong window". Do you have multiple monitors or are you referring to Desktop workspaces maybe?

Accessing your second harddrive could be a setting in "Removable Devices"

A firefox and Dolphin icon keep appearing... Maybe you need to select "Start with an empty session" in SystemSetting -> Start-up and Shutdown perhaps.

"I would like to add folders to my panels to easely access my music, videoś etc" ... you can find a suitable widget to add to your panel that will more than likely give you this easy access and more, but sorry I do not use them so I can't help.

.nzb files in FF/Chrome ... Sorry, no idea!

I cant stack 2 panels on top of eachother to use as a quicklaunchbar. No this is a Windows only "feature" I believe. But again there are other ways...

make the panels less transparant (on default already at max?) Yes, at this stage I suggest the easiest way for you is to use another theme, such as http://kde-look.org/content/show.php...content=125471

resolution of my second monitor (1280x1024) so on my primary I cant see fullscreen video... This causes problems for so many people. I can only wish you luck finding a solution.

Hopefully what I posted might get you some way toward setting up you desktop the way you want it. I might say if you are new to KDE, Kubuntu and Linux then take things slowly at first, answers to many things all come in good time and with some patient exploration.

    Good luck.
    Kubuntu 12.04 - Acer Aspire 5750G

Is the hard drive removable or part of your system? If it is removable, you can follow bra|10n solution. If its fixed in your system, youll have to edit fstab. This tutorial might be of some use:
      http://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/linux-f...-update-fstab/
Before you start editing your fstab file, make a backup of it and save it in your home folder.

      - A firefox and Dolphin icon keep appearing in my panels every reboot!
In the left corner of 2 panels (left and right monitor) the 2 icons just keep appearing, pretty annoying.
That sounds like the default Quicklaunch launcher. If you left click on that you can delete it. Does it still come back on reboot?

      - I cant put folders in my "start"menu (Ex. Music/Videos)

Do you want the folder in your "start" menu or do you want it on your panel? If you want it on your panel, add the Quicklaunch widget (or modify the annoying one above). You can set it to open a specific folder in dolphin.
If you want it in your start menu, right click on the start menu and then Edit Applications. Click on New Item and enter whatever name you want. For the Command, put dophin /foldername. For example, if you wanted to open a file manager in the /etc folder you would type:
      Code:
      dolphin /etc
Be sure to put the full file extension.
You also might like the folder view widget that you can put on your desktop to easily access folders and files.
