I have recently installed kubuntu.
I cannot install any packages from adept at all.
I have access to universe and mulitverse and the headers are downloaded ok
I can search through the software and mark for download
whenever I click the "request install" button the "requested" column displays "BREAK (install)" and then when I click on "apply changes" I get the error box labeled " Could not commit changes - Adept Manager" with the error message of
"There was an error commiting changes. Possibly there was a problem downloading some packages or the commit would break packages"
I don't know what that means but It is frustrating.
my repositories are
deb http://nz.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper universe multiverse
deb-src http://nz.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper universe multiverse
deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper-security main restricted
deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu dapper-security main restricted
when i fetch updates it tells me there is 15583 items to download
i marked for downloading aa3d and it did NOT tell me "BREAK (install)" it just said "install" and that downloaded and installed correctly.
but if I mark "sun-java5-bin" or "firefox" or anything useful then it will say "BREAK (install)"
I am thinking it cannot download them because I have to install something else first, but I don't know what that is.
any help?
