    Hi....

What is it happening with it? Also, could you open a terminal and post the results of this command:

    Code:
    lshw -c video
    Regards...

Flash has been tricky for the last couple of releases. Often, removing and re-installing it works. What browser are you using? Chrome comes with flash in it but it's a departure from firefox.

I am using Firefox. Let me try Rekonq before I get Chrome(ium).

Rekong: Tried Youtube. Got this error: Executable: rekonq PID: 8300 Signal: Illegal instruction (4)

          Chormium: Missing plug-in.

          Chrome: Works.

Looks like Chrome is now my default browser for Linux

            Hi...

It shouldn't have to be. Perhaps we can figure out the problem.

The configuration line of the command I gave you should have given the driver you're currently using. So, if you would, could you go here, follow the instructions and post the information that pertains to your graphics card, including the driver? Hopefully, that will tell us what we need to know.

            Regards...

I view youtube videos in firefox, rekonq and chromium (I don't have chrome installed). If it's not working, are you sure you have the kubuntu-restricted-extras installed?

                    Hi....

                    According to your readout....

                    Code:
10de0314 Yes nVidia Corporation NV31 [GeForce FX 5600XT] nv
it appears your system is still using the nvidia proprietary driver, even though you said you removed it. However, if it's working right for you, I'm hesitant to have you do anything to change it.

Anyway, back to your problem with flash. Are you running a 32 bit or 64 bit version of Kubuntu? If 64 bit, did you install the "flashplugin-installer" package?

EDIT: Then again, I'm guessing you have 32 bit, gauging from your answer to vw72. Try reading through this thread and see if it helps any.

                    Regards...

32-bit of course. I prefer 32-bit, even on my laptop, which works great. Rechecking driver. I am going to reinstall the the 173 driver, reboot then remove again, hoping that will fix it, but i doubt it. Wouldn't hurt.

The only reason why I am not mad at this whole situation is because I pretty much got this computer for free. I only paid four dollars for a power cord from Amazon, and three bucks for a CMOS battery at evil Wal-Mart.

I'm not sure the two issues are connected, though.

Yes, I know. There is just something really wrong. I am starting to wonder if the video card is failing.

This is a mis-statement. The proprietary driver is "nvidia" not "nv." "nv" is the older open-source driver.

I am back. That didn't work. I got everything restore with the vid settings, but no luck getting videos in Chromium. I also tried to upload an image with imageshack and it says "Missing Plug-In" as well where the button to "Browse" is supposed to be.

But in the end, it worked out very well. Without the community's help and guidance, my computer would have been unusable unless I put XP back on it, and I hate Microsft, and dont get me started with Apple.

The end result of it all. Thank you all!
