Please help me with sound config.

    Hi,

I would like to have a Linux dist with Google Chrome.
This is my no 3 try and it looked nice so I made a installation.

It's a new installation from yesterday so pls don't ask details about versions and stuff.
I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilio laptop computer.

Please help me with sound config.

Btw, then download Google Chrome I got 32-bit .deb (Debian/Ubuntu) or 32 bit .rpm (Fedora/openSUSE). No one works

    Regards
    Janne

    Hi...

    Välkommen!

It would be difficult, if not impossible, to help you without asking for the version and other information. If you would, please open a terminal and type in:

    Code:
    lspci
and post the results along with the version of Kubuntu you're using. However, if you would prefer not to and you are hearing system sounds but not those from web browsers, mp3 players, etc., then click on the volume button in your toolbar and then click the "Mixer" button. Be sure the slider bar for PCM is turned all the way up.

Concerning Google Chrome, how did you go about downloading and installing the .deb package?

    Regards...

      Hi Janne

What model is your Fujitsu Siemens Amilio laptop?

What is your problem with sound?

Kubuntu is based on Debian, so a .deb should work. Look here: http://linux.about.com/od/kubuntu_doc/a/kubudg21t02.htm

            Hi Janne...

If turning up the PCM button didn't work, here are a couple possible solutions.

For Google Chrome, try the instructions here.

            Regards...

Aww looks like the depedencies for Google Chrome are not installed. If you have QApt Package Installer (included into Kubuntu 11.10) then it should install the depedencies for you. Otherwise follow the instructions that ardvark71 provided.
