not able to run my wireless usb internet connection

Hi! all.................I'm new to Kubuntu and this is my first post.

I installed Kubuntu 11.10 yesterday (Wubi) alongside Windows 7.......................I connected my USB wireless internet device, it recognized the device but doesn't get me through the internet connection....................................the device works properly with my Windows 7 so I guess something is wrong with my Kubuntu settings.

I don't have any experience with a Wubi install, but understand 'in principle' how it works. In Kubuntu, click on the K Menu button and over to Applications and click on System and then on Additional Drivers. Once the scan finishes, does it show an Additional Driver, and if it does, is it shown as active? If shown, but not active, activate it.
