No Sound In 'Unreal Anthology' ....Help Please

    Hello,

I have just installed 'Unreal Anthology' under Wine, 'latest version' and even though
the games play, there is no sound. Any help would be very much appreciated.
By the way, I am a noob. 'Using Kubuntu 11.10.

    Thanks - Mark

Hi Mark - FYI there's actually a native port of the Unreal engine on the www.oldunreal.com website. I think they cover all versions up to UT2004, but check that. I'm running the 227h patch under Precise Pangolin - it runs perfectly although sound was initially a pain to get running on the native port. (In the end, I set it up to use Esound via FMOD and the ESD compatibility library for Pulse Audio (libesdcompat iirc).

I've also tried the windows version of the patch running under Wine. The sound always worked perfectly under Wine, but the performance hit was considerable.
