    Headphones in Kubuntu

How do i turn on the headphones in Kubuntu?I connect my headphones via USB port and i can see my headphones in audio mixer but how to mute speakers and turn on headphones? Also is there an automatic way like in Win7 why you plug your headphone, speakers automatically goes mute and sound is being playing through the headset?

It should be automatic but for some reason it (KDE 4.7.x for me, at least) quite often mutes both when you initially plug in headphones/speakers. Glad you fixed it.
I'd rather be locked out than locked in.

Yea sure,i went to Mixer,Settings,Audio Setup,Device preference then i clicked on the first column Audio Playback and set my headphones as number 1 priority and Internal Audio Analog as second. After that it recognized my headphones and started playing sound through it,from there you can simply plug/unplug and it will switch automatically!
