Some Simple Beginner Tips on Optimising Kubuntu

Hi Guys,

I'd like to share a post I recently discovered in 'Ubuntu Forums > The Ubuntu Forum Community > Other Community Discussions > Tutorials & Tips' at the ubuntuforums website.

The writer (kio_http) provides several simple suggestions on how to optimize KDE to run a little bit faster. I tried some of the suggestions and they worked. I would like to think these tips will be useful for those new to Kubuntu - especially those coming from Ubuntu, like myself...

Open System Settings and click on "Application Appearance"
Under Style, go to the "fine tuning tab" and set Low display resolution and Low CPU" as shown

I never understood - and never found a definition of - what difference these settings are actually supposed to make.

Does anyone have any documentation on this?
