Former Suse user switching to Dapper Kubuntu and slowly getting familiar with it. How do I install Macromedia flash player and browser plugins from Adept Manager? I can't find the flashplugin-nonfree package and have tried several repositories. Which repository has it? Thanks.

Re: need flash, firefox, Konquerer help
flashplugin-nonfree is found in the multiverse repository. You have to add/enable it.
If you are using Konqueror as your web browser, you need to take a few extra steps. Go to Settings > Configure Konqueror > Plugins > click on Scan New Plugins then hit Apply. That should make it work.

Re: need flash, firefox, Konquerer help
which multiverse repository did you enable? Make sure it's in the dapper line, not dapper-updates, not dapper-backports. It's supposed be like this:
deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper universe multiverse

Re: need flash, firefox, Konquerer help
Okay, I tried that and I still don't see a package called "flashplugin-nonfree".
I would really prefer doing the package install for this. Besides, I'm not sure where the Konqueror and Mozilla directories are...so I wouldn't be able to complete a manual install.

Re: need flash, firefox, Konquerer help
To easily enable several popular repositories, including the multiverse ones you need, follow the directions here...

I just checked and the flashplugin-nonfree package is there, just make sure after you install it to follow the directions Jucato listed for enabling it in Konqueror.

Re: need flash, firefox, Konquerer help
If you follow this How-to you'll be fine. If you already have the package installed just execute the command at the end of the script.
