    Plasma Desktop shell closed unexpectedly

    Hi there,

    when i start my Computer an error message appears, which says "Plasma Desktop shell closed unexpectedly"
    so basicly i have no desktop animation. All other Programs are launchable (with alt+f2)

    I have :

    Kubuntu : 11.10 installed normal not inside windows
    KDE: 4.7.3
    Grub:0.97-29ubuntu64

    My pc is quit old it has a
    Pent. T2390 intel 32 bit, 64 bit
    one 250 gb hard drive
    2gb Memory


    when i click in the crash handler window in developer inforation this occurs (dunno if this is important)

    Are you saying that the Plasma Desktop actually crashes and you have NO desktop (just a black screen), but you can still run apps with Alt+F2, or are you saying that you still have the Desktop, but no 'eye candy' effects?
    Windows no longer obstructs my view.

      i don't 100% guarantee this will fix the problem..
      alt+f2>konsole (open konsole)
      run the following commands one by one

      sudo apt-get update
      sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
      sudo dpkg -a --configure

      Then reboot with 'sudo reboot'
