software update problem

hi guyz,
i'm almost a newbie to KDE.
i used to use ubuntu, till i found the beauty of kubuntu
i have problem for updating my softwares.
in kubuntu 11.10 i can not find any update for my installed program,
*in the previous version kubuntu 11.04, in "setting" > "add and remove software", there was a category called software updates,
*in ubuntu, there's an individual application for all updates and you can choose which update to download,

but here in kubuntu 11.10, "muon software center" doesn't show any update for me, i changed some resources and it shows kubuntu updates, but you can just remove your packages from this category.

Try the Muon Package Manager. It will be able to show updates and will install them. There is also a Muon Update Manager.

i gave it a shot, seems to be what i need

is this the main way to keep software updated?
for example libreOffice has a newer version (3.4.5), but mine is 3.4.4, can i update such a thing there?

Yes, you can. Either you can right-click on the package name and select "upgrade" or click on the name and press the "upgrade button below the main view.
