    Migration Program

I have recently changed from Ubuntu 10:04lts to Kubuntu 11:04 via Kubuntu 10:04 as the straight install of 11:04 did not work but works fine when installed in this manner from live discs in Ubuntu User Magazine, I did back up al my user accounts etc to an external hard-drive so I had a source to convert from and if needed to restore 10:04lts in a very quick time.

I made the change because Ubuntu switched from Evolution to Thunderbird, I did not want to wait until Ubuntu 12:04 squeezed me out of Ubuntu land.

Kmail is not ideal as some of the functions are part of other programs, which I assume makes it less demanding on system resources, although it can be frustrating to wait for another program to boot before you can check an email address or phone number.

BUT it was the only handler I could find a file converter for.

Everything was thrown into focus when I recently migrated my wife from a wholly XP desk top to a wholly Win7 all in one desk top.

Converting some 2000 e-mails is tedious in the extreme more so, as the only program I could find converted a file then had to be reconfigured for the next file try this sometime and you'll see how annoying it can be to perform...

Is there a true migration program that transfers settings and user accounts within the Buntu family? I know it is a tall order.but it would make god sense to have something to simplyfy life for those of us that depend on their e-mail to earn an income...

    Thanks.
