Getting w32codecs

Hello. I followed these instructions in ubuntu for installing w32codes

But it did not work in kubuntu. When I did wget ... I got an .html page instead of the .deb file. So I copied and pasted the address in firefox and was able to download the .deb that way.

Go to http://www.ubuntulinux.nl/source-o-matic the source-o-matic website. Get a new sources.list file that includes the Penguin Liberation Front repository (as well as all the repos that you use). Replace your old /etc/apt/sources.list file with the one from source-o-matic. BE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR /etc/apt/sources.list FILE FIRST.

Now you'll be able to update your w32codecs along with everything else.

I noticed that PLF isn't maintaining the ubuntu packages anymore. I do have them on my site though. here is the link.

I also included the libdvdcss2 package to enable dvd decrypting.

Good Grief! I used to use PLF when I used Mandrake (before it became Mandriva) and then I used Marillat's site for Debian. When PLF took over the Marillat repos, I thought it was a GOOD THING and now they've stopped maintaining Ubuntu!

Yea its a shame because they always had such good quality to their compiles. I also used them whan I ran Mandrake/riva.
