Network File Sharing, between two Kubuntu 11.10 computers?

I am trying to share files and folders between two Kubuntu 11.10 computers... And I really don't know how, I have been trying to use Samba, (I don't think thats right)

I have searched but I keep coming up with old data.

I should add, I can't even take files off my Ubuntu computer, but I can take files off of my Kubuntu from the Ubuntu computer.. (If that makes any sense)

I am 100% new to this.

          update.

Got access to both Kubuntu computers

I had to type into the path smb://user-computer.local

I still have not accessed the Ubuntu computer...

Samba is really intended for sharing with windows computers. NFS is for real OS's.

In what way are you lost? Have you done any searching for NFS? It takes about 3 minutes to install and set up.

Probably the best, simplest, most fool-proof walk-through of setting up NFS between two computers: http://mostlylinux.wordpress.com/network/nfshowto/ .

I found your link looking to do the same between my two 11.10 systems and it helped me a lot. I just want it to thank you for that You saved my day! Is it safe to remove Samba related stuff now (I won't be using Windows any more).
