Well I finally screwed up my system...

    Hello All,

In an attempt to install the 32bit gstreamer application/libraries I have accidentally uninstalled a variety of programs including my KpackageKit. My xwindows session is still running, but I am afraid if I reboot it may not come back. I can not even get a terminal session.

Any ideas where I should start?
    Thanks,

    Craigbert

if you can still ctrl>alt>F6 to a tty log in and try
    sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
    and see if that helps
