Hi
This is a link to a very entertainingly written, and current, article by Sebastian Trueg, "a developer" about one reason why something didn't seem to work in Nepomuk/strigi and how it was fixed.
And, it indicates, rather indirectly, why we really DO need as much information as you can provide for us to be able to help you efficiently.
a) there are things "in the code" that people here really can help with and that cannot be dealt with by changing "a setting in the application".
b) there are things "upstream" as it were, that are not necessarily "bugs" as in something that the developers didn't know about and either are diligently working on, or ignoring, that....if known, are a relatively easy fix and can be sent down to us in an update.
c) there are settings in the application, or associated application, that you, the user can change to get something working to your satisfaction.
But, we need as much information as possible so that we, well, not ME... i'm just an applications and hardware kinda guy , but for the folks who really know what is going on to be able to help you.
Again it is a very interesting read, just a minute or so and is written by one of the biggies in "development".
