no i never herd of GDebi. The java program is called megamek/mekwars. I run a small home server for battleteck that my kids are use too playing on. After talking too a few people who are familure with the software they all state the open dervitives of java just dont work with it. So anyone know how too fix the back end so i can install the java from suns sight that i down loaded? I down loaded the *.deb package.

If you don't already have gdebi installed, open Konsole Terminal Program, connect to the Internet and issue the command
          sudo apt-get install gdebi
Then as Vinny says, RIGHT click on the .deb and choose "Install with Gdebi."
