    no gui after failed update

while doing the recent update, i mistakenly restarted my computer and the next time i logged back onto kubuntu
the gui wouldnt let me log past the login screen

command line works perfectly fine tho
so i was wondering if there are any ways i could re-update in terminal so i wouldnt have to reinstal the entire system.

i will the error messages it pop up in a sec

sounds like a full home folder perhaps you should try 'df -h' to see if you home folder is full, if there is space try sudo chown -R <user>:<user> /home/<user> perhaps you broke premissions in your home folder. if you have an ATI card and you install the 11.9 ati driver on a 64bit system thats normal you have to remove the driver you will get gl errors that prevent kde from starting your desktop.

check the file /home/<user>/.Xsession for errors.
