What the heck is going on??

Hi there! This is my first time trying to use Kubuntu. I installed 11.10.

In my system, I have my main desktop. I have a 2TB fakeraid, as in, I have two 1TB drives hooked into my Marvell Sata ports. I also have two 500GB drives inside. I need the fakeraid to have Kubuntu installed, one 500GB to dual boot Windows 7 with ~350GB, and a Windows XP partition of ~150GB. I have the other drive for documents to be shared between the three systems.

My problem starts after trying to install Kubuntu last. After the install, it gives me a fatal error about GRUB not getting installed. So I install to my spare 500GB drive, and everything goes great. I then install Kubuntu to the 2TB Raid. After rebooting, GRUB2 doesn't detect my RAID install...

"Fakeraid" usually involves windows drivers and therefore doesn't lay well with linux. You can google a couple dozen articles on it.
