    Laptop display problem

    Hello everyone.

    System info:
    Laptop Acer Aspire 5336
    Processor Intel Celeron 900 32-bit
    Memory 2GB
    Graphics card Intel GMA 4500M
    HDD 250GB

    Kubuntu 11.04
    KDE 4.6.2
    Grub 0.97-29

I've installed Kubuntu on my laptop. But there is a problem with display.

    1. When I start laptop it shows nothing.
    2. When I connect external monitor everything works fine for it and I can configure resolutions for both of them (external and built-in), but I still cannot see anything on built-in monitor.
    3. When I start laptop with replaced "quiet splash" by "nomodeset" I can use only 1024x768 resolution, but built-in monitor works.

How can I solve this problem?

...change the bootoptions.Do not use "nomodeset" . Change "acpi_osi=Linux" to "acpi_osi=" and try to boot.Anything better ?
