SOLVED - Oneiric Ocelot - Keep getting Nepomuk indexing disabled message

    Hi there

Happy to say that I had a smooth upgrade to the Ocelot and have never used Nepomuk due to performance issues
but ever since the upgrade, I get 3 warning messages via the notificatons & jobs widget in the
panel that Nepomuk indexing is disabled

It's more of an inconvenience than anything else but I was wondering how I can turn these
    messages off?

    Thanks

    Raaj

Yep, wondering the same. I don't need Nepomuk running. It's not in my startup or services, so why is it still sending me notifications?

because akonadi needs nepomuk to work correctly, anytime something tries to use akonadi you will get the message. if you look at the dialog there is a link that explains what uses it and a bit more about it.

        Ok thanks

I see that if I want to continue to use the clock in the panel, then I will have to put up with this although there was no such issue before

Is there no way to turn off the messages at all?

If not I will put up and shut up but not ideal...

        Cheers

turn on nepomuk, you can chage the folders it indexes in system settings -> desktop search , if you find it a bother have it index no folders. but it will still be needed for akonadi to do its internal stuff.

            Good Call!
Nepomuk not as resource hungry as it was last time I tried, especially after you turn off Strigi as well
            Thanks very much
