    Skype/webcam/Kubuntu

    Hi
I`m not exactly a newbie i can manage to get linux working ok and muck about with it.

But theres one thing i`ve never been able to acheive ,that is to get my Microsoft (or any other webcam) VX6000 to work with Kubuntu or Ubuntu and skype i can get it working with cheese.

if i could do this one last thing i wouldn`t need Windows again

    Any advice would be great

    Cheers Tony

ps i put ubuntu on this time then install the kde desktop

I can't find any HowTo about getting the Microsoft VX6000 to work in Linux. Maybe someone else can show me wrong.

There is a general guide "How to make Webcam compatible with Skype." on the Linux Mint Community site. Because it is Mint you need to read between the lines and adapt it. Particularly you need V4L and V4L2. V4L2UCP might help you, but I find it fairly uneccessary
