I installed Automatix on Kubuntu 6.06 and it worked fine until I installed the Nvida drivers.
During the instalation it gave me this message:
Run: sudo cp /ect/x11/xorg.conf_backup_200607221436/ect/x11/xorg.conf, in the rare case it fails to boot.
Also during the install the following errors occurred:
Bad Device, invalid or uninitialized input device 166
Major opcode:144
Major opcode:3
Resource id:0x0
Failed to open device.
Now when I reboot my computer it hangs up and leaves me with a blank screen.
The first time this happened I completely reinstalled Kubuntu and installed the programs in Automatix one by one, and rebooted after each one, that is how I know that the Nvida drivers is the problem.
I have a:
Albatron KX4008X motherboard
Asus V9520/TD/N/128M video card
Soundblaster live soundcard
Athlon XP 2400 processor
512 meg ram
Mag DX500T monitor
LD dvd drive
Plexwriter CDRW drive
How do I get to the command line if the system hangs up?
What is causing these errors?
Help.
