    Dual Booting - Bad Problem.

    Ok i have many problems.

I have a error message when i boot up.

"Error 15" - Why is that?

I know why because a boot up file, is missing.

I go to re-install linux, and the installer crashes.

    On: Downloading Package lists... 0%

Could anyone retreive these problems? Thanks, Josh.

Actually, Grub error 15 is caused by Grub being unable to decipher a number. Please see this page for a list of all the Grub errors. You should be able to use the Live CD to check your installation. By the way, it took me less than a minute to find that information via google/linux.

Also, thats not what im getting, it goes to load grub, and then just says, "error 15"

EDIT; I don't even get to the operating menu list.

Hi I'm only a newbe myself but I ended up in the same situation as you except it left me unable to even boot from CD. let me add that this was with a Live CD from Start Com. After going into the BIOS setting and resetting the system defaults I booted using the Kubuntu Minimal (not the Live CD). Reinstalled Kubuntu and both my existing windoz and Kubuntu booted with no problems. This method has the obvious risk of loosing your windoz installation if any thing goes wrong i.e. its at your own risk.

          Regards John

Sounds as if the installer did not finish its job with grub and that is why it will not boot.
If you downloaded your cd from iso and burned it to disk yourself you might try burning it again at slower rate like 4x or 8x.
I had issue where installer would halt halfway and never finish then after a reburn of the iso at a slower speed it worked fine.

At this moment to resolve you will need to do a fix to windows first to allow it to restore the mbr then try the kubuntu install again.
