    Audio suddenly stopped working

    Hello All,

I was playing some music with Amarok and suddenly the sound cut out. As far as I can tell everything is unmuted, but I can not figure out why it suddenly stopped working.

    Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks,

    Craigbert

Amarok is famous for having a zillion features, but not famous for its stability.

Probably if you restart KDM and log in again, you'll find sound back to normal. Until Amarok decides to crash ....

I use vlc and it works great. There are many music players for Linux, including the very simple alsaplayer-alsa.

      Thanks dibl.

I fell back on my windoze troubleshooting techniques and rebooted, but that did not help. But when I rebooted I noticed that I got my same start up sound, so that told me that the speakers and internal audio framework were fine and that it was just Amarok.

I looked at vlc and juk this AM and I think I have settled on juk for the moment. Unless it is as unstable as Amarok....
      Thanks,
