Isn't there a way to erase / reformat an SD removable media disk

and then copy data to it using Kubuntu?

I can't find any way of doing this from file manager.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

if you plug the SD drive in the computer dose the device notifier show it and let you open with dolphin ?

if you have it open in dolphin can you delete & add files?

          why format ?

            Re: please help?

Yes...Device notifier will recognize SD card.
The SD contained a program on it
            that became corrupted.
I am wanting to erase SD and then recopy
            program information to SD.
Should I just delete SD contents with Dolphin,
and then copy and paste program back onto SD??

tip......highlight the files to remove hold down shift key and press delete ......this bypasses the trash can and permanently deletes.

Yes. Dolphin is for copying, moving, and deleting files, but it has no capability to reformat a device. For that, you probably want gparted.

Personally, I made a Parted Magic USB stick a long time ago -- it comes in very handy at moments like this.

Yea I wanted to format a pendrive. I thought what a potch. So I booted up windows. Which did the job quite admirably. If I could program I'd sort it out but I can't .. Its too Long winded a right mouse button click and format pendive/sim card would be useful.
