[SOLVED] KDE wont automatically run a executable java text file like Ubuntu

So I decided to give Kubuntu a try and I really like it so far. (I was previously using ubuntu)

When i tried to open this alice 2.0 program(which is a java executable text file) it will not provide the pop up window like ubuntu did. This pop up window gave me options like "run in terminal" " display" and "Run"

Is there another way of running this program in kubuntu?

Have you got Sun Java6 JDK?

well at first i wasnt sure so i installed again. however when i go and click on the text file it still doesnt give me the option to click run.
I installed sun java6 jdk with this code:
      sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jdk
should I right click the file then click "open with" and select a certain program?
      thank you for your help!

SO i was able to fix my problem by re-installing sun java!

I followed the instructions on the following link:
          https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Java

They say to not install java through Kpackagekit and instead install it through the terminal!

Im sure it wasan easy fix for others but for beginners like me this was very helpful!

          Thanks!
