[Solved] Q. About Enabling Universe and Multiverse

When I open KPackageKit and go to the settings ,there are three things not checked, the first is the top one which is [deb cdrom:......Natty main Restricted], the other two are as follows:
[deb http://..........Natty-backports main restricted universe multiverse] &
    [deb http://............Ubuntu/Natty partner]

I am going to paste a section of the instructions for the manual installation of my ATI Catalyst driver and software package from:

    http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubu...allation_Guide

"Make sure universe and multiverse are enabled in your repository sources (System -> Administration -> Software Sources). or Applications->Ubuntu Software Center->Edit->Software sources->Other software: check canonical partners. "

My question is should I check mark and apply the bottom 2 http addresses ? I ask because I am not sure and the word 'backports' has me scratching my head.
As Always Thank You in Advance for Your Help.

    Natty-backports repository is for:
...requesting, processing, testing, and coordinating packages in the natty-backports repository.
Basically, for (approved/testing/tested) packages from a prior/later/development Kubuntu release for use in Natty.

The Natty partner repository is for:
Commercial Software including Flash, Skype, UEX, SUN Java, OpenBravo...

Thank you Snowhog; I guess that is why they are left unchecked in the default settings. I'll run a new thread after the Catalyst install to report how it does.

Note: No need to start another thread; I was unsuccessful with the manual install of Catalyst. I probably need to learn more about Linux and drivers. Will do a search on work around of the issues I was having with using the 'Additional Drivers' in the Applications>System Menu.
