Setting up compiz cube in Kubuntu 11.04 Desktop...

    Hi All,

I tried to setup a desktop cube effect on my machine with the compiz settings manager ... but on pressing a key strokes (ctrl+alt+left mouse click) ... I'm able not to trigger the cube effect...

Also I'm not sure will there by any conflicts with the effects which has been configured in system settings and compiz-setting manager..I can see the effects are configured in system settings are working fine..

Please help me in troubleshooting and fix the same...

    Thanks

    Did you install compiz ?
becose Kwin will do the cube and much more .....system settings>desktop effects is the Kwin settings and is what you should be using.

if you installed compiz you should install the compiz fusion icon .....it will let you pick between Kwin and compiz disabling the one thats not chosen so theirs no conflicts

open the compiz fusion icon and make sure that Kwin is in control .........................then go to Kickoff>system settings>desktop effects ..........then the all effects tab .......scroll down to the cube settings and click the check box to the left to enable ........then wrench icon on the right side of the screen to customize.
