It did for me on my HP Pavilion g7 laptop, which has a Broadcom STA wireless chip. From Additional Drivers:
    This package contains Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA wireless driverfor use with Broadcom's BCM4311-, BCM4312-, BCM4313-, BCM4321-,BCM4322-, BCM43224-, and BCM43225-, BCM43227- and BCM43228-basedhardware.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

FWIW, the only time my HP Mini's BCM4322 works is when I let Ubuntu's Jockey do the work. Other distros never seem to get it right.

Question: Can you provide the steps you took to at least get it to work for you in Lubuntu? Did you simply plug in a wired Internet connection and then run some commands, or what?

Answer: In Lubuntu I plugged in a wired internet connection. Then went to menu item ADDITIONAL DRIVERS, where the STA driver was listed. Selected the STA driver and hit the ACTIVATE button. The driver was then downloaded and successfully activated. I then configured the connection to my wireless router.
