    Sound issues

    Hi Everyone,
    Im absolute newguy to linux.
I went to ubuntu forum for installation of sound driver(ALC 889 8-ch-dig/Mobo MSI 785G-E53) it worked for a while then I messed up I dont know what i've done it (and the link in forum which i followed i lost it ). I installed vlc, skype, google videochat plugin after installing sound driver.
And in sound option I used toget internal audio/Juniper HDMI (Im using VGA to HD5700) so without using HDMI how that stuff is installed? And in sound properties ALC889 is not mentioned anywhere and in skype there is only pulse audio stuff sorry it might be confusing but letme put it in three point
    1. after snd driver installation ALC 889 is not mention in sound properties (oh yeah and i also installed paucontrol which is not helpful).
    2. Im using crt connected to hd5700(juniper) it has hdmi but im not usig it but it is still mention in sound properties as a primary device.
    3. I would like to install sound driver from scratch and any extra suggestion will be welcome

    System:
    MSI 785G-E53 main board
    CPU AMD 555 Black Edition
Graphics MSI HAWK R5700 (I manually installed driver .run file later I run propeitary driver and installed that video dont have much problem other than minute tearing )

Please guide me (sorry for bad english not my native language)

if their is no other problem with sound other than a slight stutter in skype test sound ...........then no.

            Hi...

            Welcome to the forums

If you don't mind potentially having to reinstall Kubuntu again, then I would try installing the driver again. Just keep in mind that it may or may not remove the stuttering.

may be unrelated to the stutter, but I would try removing pulseaudio, I've seen it doing weird/funny things like that and I always uninstall it

                sudo apt-get remove pulseaudio

you can always reinstall it later if you want
