[RESOLVED] Gimp does not load

Hello All,

When I click on Gimp it acts like it is going to load, but does not. When I say "acts" I mean that the little Gimp head (what is that? A dog? A fox?...) will bounce next to my mouse and I will see the application appear in the task bar, but then it all goes away without any error messages.

Can anyone tell me what is going on?

Try running it from a terminal such as konsole. At the command prompt, type gimp.
Then post the error message/s.

Thanks for the quick response. Here is what the output was:

(gimp:3571): GLib-WARNING **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.28.6/./glib/goption.c:2132: ignoring no-arg, optional-arg or filename flags (8) on option of type 0
Segmentation fault

I can say with a high degree of honesty that it makes no sense to me.
