Okay I have Kubuntu Natty. My emulator is MAME and my frontend is QMC2. I need to figure out how to set up my controller. With QMC2 it recognizes my Playstation 3 controller but I'm confused on how to map it.

Configure it from within MAME itself. Start a game. then hit TAB. From the menu, you should be able to configure the controller. It's been a while since I have done it, but are two set of controller settings, one for the game, then another for all games. You want to change the settings for all games. -

okay when I click on the mame exe it says no games found and that I need to check the rom path with the mame.ini file. I don't know where to find this.Comment

Okay now I have another problem. I ended up using GMAMEUI. Certain games I can't run like Tekken, MK3, and Street Fighter. Is there anything I can do about this?Comment

The problem probably doesn't lie within kubuntu or whatever frontend you are using. You probably have missing or incomplete romsets and that is what is causing your problem. This is not the place to ask about roms, since they are copyrighted material.
Changing the subject, I use XBMC as a frontend and am happy with it.

okay I ran into another problem with cheats. I downloaded the latest cheat.zip from Pugsy. Then I put the zip file where my Mame executable is. Then I opened my mame.ini file, specified the directory, and changed cheat on misc option from "0" to "1" but the cheat option still does not show. When I try to specify the cheat directory within GMAMEUI the browse buttons are unresponsive and it wont let me type the path manually. Help would be greatly appreciated. I've been at this for a while.Comment
