    Those commands works fine, but then, the same, the password prompt does not appear for update manager or software manager.

    There were shown 0 updates because I have the latest versions.
    0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 448 not upgraded.
    kubuntu-desktop is already the newest version.

      I think this is a bug, no doubt. On fedora with kde, the password prompt appears.

        Here I have installed Ubuntu first, then KDE:
        Same on a kubuntu installed from iso in virtualbox. Ubuntu software center, Muon software center and updates doesn't work, because the password prompt does not appear.
        Now I have installed Kubuntu directly from iso in virtualbox and works, the password prompt shows.
        I think the problem is at kubuntu installed with wubi.
