Questions of a Kubuntu first timer

Hi! This is the first time i use Kubuntu although i've sticked with ubuntu for years( i don't like the new Unity Interface). I have some questions i'd like you to give me some advices:
1/ Is there anything similar to compiz, ubuntu tweak here? i often use screen edge + right click to change workspace but i can't find it here.
2/ I want to change Opacity of some apps and the panel( permanently, not right click on the top right symbol and change opacity).
3/ I want to add 'Open as admin' and 'open in terminal' for right click like we can in Gnome
4/ Is there any tool like Synaptic Package Manager here. I can't live without it
5/ Please give me some web page with useful kde info for reference ( i can't find many links relating kde tweaking like gnome)
Thank you very much for any reply!

    Hi....

    Welcome to the forums

Well, I can at least answer this one.

Yes, you can even use Synaptic in Kubuntu! It's the only one I like to use, although I've heard Muon is pretty good as well.

            at the terminal:
            sudo apt-get install synaptic
I usually recommend 'sudo apt-get --no-install-recommends install synaptic', as synaptic recommends a fair number of gnome related packages that are not required in a kde environment. (of course whether you want to install the recommends is a personal choice).

            EDIT:
1/ Is there anything similar to compiz
You can use compiz in kde if you prefer it over kwin, kwin does similar desktop effects as compiz (if kwin's desktop effects are enabled), but compiz and kwin have slightly different feature sets. Kwin can have active desktop edges, but to my knowledge you can't set window edge click action in kwin.

2/ I want to change Opacity of some apps and the panel
If you are using kwin, you can set general app and menu transparencies in SystemSettings>DesktopEffects>Advanced>Transparenc y, by enabling the effect and set the settings you want with the configure button next to the effect. For individual apps/windows, you can set transparency in window/app specific settings from window menu>advanced. Panel transparency depends on the workspace (plasma) theme used.

3/ I want to add 'Open as admin' and 'open in terminal' for right click like we can in Gnome
Right-click menu items in dolphin are called "service menus" in kde, and there are a good number of them available in kde-look: http://kde-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=287. You can also open a terminal in the current directory in dolphin by pressing F4 (terminal panel) or Shift+F4 (separate window).
