On my laptop and connecting to a second monitor

    Hello All,

Hopefully I have not exceeded the number of questions I can ask in a day.

I have a monitor that I can hook up to the VGA port of my laptop. I used the NVIDIA X Server Setting utility and restarted the X server. The monitor displays a background from my laptop so it appears to be working. But when I try to drag an application over to it, it won't let me. I can move the mouse over there without any issues, but it won't let me drag anything.

    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,

    Craigbert

    Under:
System Settings -> Display and Monitor
    Does it show both monitors?

My laptop, for instance, shows HDMI, LCD, and VGA (HDMI and VGA being port options on my laptop, and the LCD being my laptop's screen)

You can often just change the "Position" drop-down box to select how the second monitor should behave. Like clone, right, left, above, below, etc.
Man by his very nature is dependent on other men.

      SIR_Taco,

Thanks for the reply. No it did not show both monitors until I went into the NVidia Server Settings and configured them for "TwinView". For some reason that did it and I can now use both of my screens!
      Thanks,
