Kid3 is a tag program that does embed the album art. Just drag and drop the jpg to the bottom right hand corner.

As far as changing software, I just mix and match gnome and kde apps together based on what works best for
the task at hand.

can you please tell how did you change the album art.. i am not able to change it..
i opened the folder which had 3-4 songs.. selected all songs. opened the file browser.. and dragged the new album art to bottom right which was displaying old album art.
the application displayed "picture" has been changed.. so there was a save sign beside all the songs.. but still the album art is not changed.
