    Re: Backtrace Bafflement

    Ok I have 2 suggestions for you:

    1. Upgrade to latest KDE (4.6.3)
    Code:
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa
    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
    2. Remove pulseaudio

    Let us know how it goes.

      Thanks for your suggestions.

      This time the Desktop disappeared leaving just the app widows I had open.

          Re: Backtrace Bafflement

          Sorry, If I left you dangling. I took your advice and the kde crash panal has yet to appear. but a crash of a different nature took place; - one that as happened before.

          My Dsktop disappeared leaving only the the two app windows open. Which I solved as usual by

          Alt+Prt scrn r s e i s u b

          The nuisance at least has abated - but it has a track record of being intermittent.

              I'm pretty sure this is graphics driver problem as reported here:
              https://bugs.launchpad.net/nvidia-dr...tu/+bug/747717

              You can try to downgrade the driver/install the proprietary nVidia drivers, the following pages should help you to fix this problem:
