    Wireless Help Please

I'm fairly new to linux, and for the past few days have been trying to get my wireless internet working. I know there's alot of posts about this, but i've tried many how-to's, and different drivers, but nothings worked for me, if somone could help me out it'd much appreciated.

I'm running Kubuntu Dapper for AMD64, I have a Linksys WMP54GS wireless adapter. lspci tells me it is the BCM4318 chipset. I installed ndiswrapper-utils_1.8-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb package. I've tried the bcmwl5.inf driver from the ndiswrapper list, and the WMP54GS driver that came with the card, ndiswrapper reports driver installed hardware present with both, but no wlan interface shows up. I have no wired connection, so anything i need in linux i have to put on a cd. Thanks again for any help.
